Capes for Strength: Empowering Children that are having surgery

Updated: Oct 6

At some point, nearly every child develops a fascination with superheroes. They dress as superheros for halloween, play superheros on the playground, and sometimes even like to think of themselves as their own superhero.

On the contarary, when children undergo surgery, they are often very anxious and frightened, requiring encouragement and reassurance to venture into an unfamiliar environment on their own.

This is where Capes for Strength steps in. Capes for Strength offers superhero capes to children undergoing surgery, aiming to empower these young patients.

The phrase on the back of the capes is intentionally "I am Strong" instead of other affirmations like "I am Brave." This choice reflects the understanding that while surgery is frightening and doesn't require bravery for success, it does require strength.

In addition, the capes will come in multiple colors, such as pink, blue, and purple. This choice not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the capes but also plays a significant role in the psychological well-being of patients. By allowing patients to select their favorite color, they are given a unique opportunity to express their individuality and personal style.

This sense of control is particularly important in medical settings, where patients often feel overwhelmed and powerless due to their circumstances. The ability to choose a cape that resonates with their personality can foster a greater sense of autonomy and comfort.

In summary, this campaign is designed to empower patients while also helping them feel like they have some control.
